The brand’s founder Hugo Ferdinand Boss was born on July 8, 1885 in Metzingen. His father Heinrich was the owner of a linen-draper. Hugo was the heir of this small family enterprise, so he was perfectly aware of how to run the business since he was a young man.
As a brand BOSS was registered in 1977 after it released the first fashion collection for men and a very successful ad campaign supported by various events connected with moto racing and Formula-1 in particular.
In 2011 Home collection featuring high quality linen was created, which was one of the novelties by the brand.
